Start with your product
Paperboard is used for folding cartons, sleeves, cards and tags. Grade, caliper, grain direction, coating and surface condition influence folding and print behavior; a heavier sheet is not automatically the right answer.
Review the options
Start with the finished dimensions and the load on the base and closure. Review scores, corners, glue and printed coverage on a formed sample. A flat press sheet cannot establish how a dark panel will look after folding.
Confirm before approval
Ask for the agreed board description, reference sample, color proof and any required source documentation. Keep environmental or contact claims tied to that particular grade and finished construction.
